As a son of the West Ward, a father of three, and a public safety leader, Pep understands the challenges families face across our city.

Commonly known as “Pep” in neighborhoods throughout Newark, he was born and raised in the city he now serves.
Before leading The Partnership, Pep served as Newark’s 5th Precinct Commander, Commanding Officer of the Newark Fugitive Unit, and Assistant to the Public Safety Director and Special Deputy with the United States Marshals Service.
He launched the grassroots program "Gangs vs. Literacy" to combat violence and support community education.
Pep holds a Bachelor of Arts in Individualized Studies and a Master of Public Administration from Fairleigh Dickinson University.
